By using less energy your company could save money and reduce its carbon footprint, and there are experts waiting waiing to help.

The Carbon Trust works with businesses to identify carbon emissions and find ways of cutting them, and provides the knowledge and resources to make the savings a reality. 

As a first step, their online carbon calculator will help you to calculate your organisation's carbon footprint.  Then, depending on your sector and size, you may be able to take advantage of the following suite of services:

Free carbon surveys, identifying energy-saving opportunities and providing practical advice on how to achieve them, helping you to reduce your carbon footprint and save money

Interest-free loans to invest in energy-saving projects such as improved lighting, boilers or insulation

Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA's) permitting 100% of the capital cost of approved energy-saving equipment to be off-set against corporation tax

Design advice support, ranging from self-help guidance to free or subsidised design and construction consultancy.

In addition, the Carbon Trust offers an extensive library of free publications including sector-specific guidance and technology guides covering the issues to consider when choosing and operating a wide range of different equipment.
