Rochester Farmers' Market is a monthly market that was established in 2000.  Farmers markets are a way for local farmers and producers to sell directly to their customers. The vendors at the farmers' markets have grown, bred, processed, pickled, brewed or baked the goods themselves. 

Food bought from supermarkets travels an average of 1,000 miles from the producer to the store and is encased in plastic and cardboard.
