Medway Maritime Hospital
Staff at the Medway Maritime Hospital take their environmental responsibilities very seriously, and aim for Medway to be the most efficient acute NHS Trust. The hospital reduced its carbon dioxide emissions by 9.8% in 2006/07 and won awards in the national "One Hundred Days Carbon Off Campaign."
Much of their success is due to the efforts of a dedicated group of staff Energy Champions who work together to encourage their colleagues to adopt energy saving actions at work. The hospital is now embarking on the Carbon Trust's NHS Carbon Management programme. More information on the Medway NHS Trust here.
