Getting rid of limescale

Washing machinesThe water here in Medway contains a fair amount of chalk, which can form as limescale.  Elements in kettles and washing machines that are coated with limescale are ineffiient and use too much energy to raise the temperature of the water they are heating.

Leave a cup full of vinegar in your kettle overnight once every few months to remove scale without using horrible chemicals.  Vinegar can be used to maintain your washing machine too.  Every two months or so run a normal cycle with no clothes and add 200ml of white vinegar to maintain the health of your appliance.
