How you can take action

There is very little doubt that human activity is having an impact on our climate. It can be easy to feel helpless in the face of such a big, complicated problem - particularly when the news is full of items about the huge carbon emissions coming from other parts of the world, such as the USA and China. The thing is, if we're going to solve this problem then we need to concentrate on what's happening here in Medway.  

By making a difference locally, and by showing others how we're doing that through this website, we can become part of a world-wide solution to a world-wide problem. It's not about changing our lifestyles completely. Its about taking one step at a time to understand how we can all make a positive difference. Here are a few ideas:

A) Fit energy efficient bulbs and turn off lights if not being used

B) Sign up to Medway carshare 

C) Buy less packaging and recycle as much as possible

D) Switch to a climate-friendly green electricity contract

E) Get a free home energy check

F) Buy locally produced food from local shops and markets

G) Use public transport or cycle

H) Choose an efficient car and practice climate-friendly driving
