You'll hear lots of stuff about climate change. It's in the newspapers, on the TV - your children have probably talked about it at school too. There is very little doubt amongst climate scientists that human emissions of greenhouse gases are affecting our climate.
The thing is, the majority of people still seem to think that they know better than the experts, and a number of common myths about climate change can be seen all over the internet and the media.
Unfortunately, many of the statements from people that doubt the man-made input to climate change look as though they have a scientific basis, because they use lots of long words and complicated equations. The main point to remember is that they won't have been peer-reviewed by people qualified in climatic science. Many of them originated from groups with a vested interest in keeping emissions rising, such as motoring groups and oil companies.
We've put together answers to each of these myths, using reliable independent peer-reviewed sources. We've tried to cut through some of the complicated and confusing science to let you know what climate change is, what it means for Medway and what might happen if we don’t work together to tackle the problem.
