Myth one - Climate change isn't happening

Temperature readings from around the world show that in the last 100 years the Earth's temperature has gone up by between 0.4 and 0.8 degrees centigrade. In the same time, sea levels have gone up by between 10 and 25 centimetres and extreme weather events (including floods and heatwaves) are happening more often and seem to be getting worse.

It's true that the Earth has always gone through changes, and these readings may not sound like they're anything to worry about when they're compared to historical events like Ice Ages.  The thing that is worrying scientists now is the rate of these changes, because they are happening much faster than ever before.  Such fast change can't be put down to natural cycles and can only be explained by adding in the impact of human activity.

It looks like the changes are going to carry on speeding up - especially if we don't take action.

Myth two - climate change is natural, its not our fault
